For sellers, you begin by posting your listing onto fiverr. When there is a buyer fiverr will pay you $4 and they keep $1. If you are a buyer, you pay fiverr $5 via Paypal and soon you will receive your product or service within the time specified by the seller.
Fiverr provides a protection for buyers. Buyers could choose to ask for a "fix" from the seller within 48 hours. The seller isn't paid until the 48 hour after the product or service is delivered.
To summarize this site is similar to the weird posts on craigslist, but sellers are limited to the $5 price. The idea of paying $5 to someone on the internet for a product or service is questionable. You have a great chance of receiving something you didn't expect.
