Steve Jobs steps down as Apple's CEO: Internet Meltdown

Steve Jobs steps down as Apple Inc. CEO. Jobs announced late Wednesday, August 24, 2011, that he will no longer be CEO of Apple and will be replaced by Tim Cook. Tim Cook held the position as COO. Just last year Jobs took a 6 month medical leave and was temporarily replaced by Cook. He also took a medical leave of absence earlier this year. Jobs has brought Apple from its slums to its riches, introducing to the world the magical iPhone, the heartwarming iPad, and the flying Macbook Air. Now the question is weather Cook will be able to produce products as amazing as those released by Jobs.

I believe that it is time for the fall of the iPhone legacy, it has been four years too long. As iPhones equals Jobs, no Jobs no iPhones :D. Andriod, you and your ice cream sandwiches, gingerbread cookies, and frozen yogurts can now take over the world.

Steve Jobs' resignation letter:

To the Apple Board of Directors and the Apple Community:
'I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple's CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.
I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.
As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.
I believe Apple's brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.
I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.
Steve
P.S I LOVE TURTLE NECKS...
